How are Royal Spa hot tubs?
I’ve been to the Royal Spa manufacturer in Indy and they have a Sultan model I’m interested in. Do you know anything about them that I should know about? I’m very interested in their model and would like some insight on the company. A thorough google search did not help much.

Hot Tub Arthritis Pain Relief
Hot tubs have been around for centuries for relaxation as well as for medicinal purposes.
If you have back pain, a tub can help you relieve the aches and pains you feel by loosening the muscles and massaging them.
Hot tubs are great tools to use for a variety of medical conditions.
If you have back pain, this is especially true because the hot water will provide a soothing area to stretch and will also massage and loosen the muscles to help you be more flexible and pain free.
Physicians are even recognizing the benefits and are starting to recommend using a hot tub for people with chronic back pain…
Hot tub Hydrotherapy:Before starting any exercise program or spa therapy, first check with your doctor.
Depending on your situation, your physician may have certain exercises to do or a regular regimen that may differ from others based on your individual needs.
The doctor may also recommend the twice daily hot tub sessions be a certain temperature and duration to ensure maximum relief.
The first thing in the morning, a soak in the hot tub and some water exercise provides a safe and pleasant way to warm up the joints and increase freedom of movement.
It also loosens up tight muscles from the previous evening’s rest. A maximum of a half hour in the spa is usually sufficient to get the needed exercises in and loosen up the joints.
At the end of the day, when, as the body cools down, stiffness and pain may again set in. The end of the evening is ideal for another half hour session in the hot tub.
Instead of exercises, though, relaxation and use of the hot tub’s jets to passively massage the muscles ease the body and mind.
Hot Tub Hydromassage:Hydromassage uses the jets of the hot tub or spa to passively buffet aching muscles. If arthritis is in the joints, how is this beneficial?
Even though the origin of the pain is within the joints themselves, the muscles attached to those bones and moving those joints often set up in spasm.
Though not as pronounced as the “charlie horse” some get at night in the calf muscle, nevertheless, the stiff spasm may cause significant pain to be felt in the joint.
Heat and the gentle massage action of the jets in the short session in the hot tub relax the spasming, stiff muscles.
As those muscles relax, pressure on the joint is reduced relieving the pain within the elbow, hip, knee or other joints.
Massage therapists agree that 90% of most all pain, though originating elsewhere, is actually perceived in the muscles’ response.
Once the muscles are relieved of spasm, gentle water exercise while still in the tub proves beneficial. The water’s buoyancy itself provides a low impact arena in which to exercise.
Blood vessels expand, increasing circulation, and removing toxins that have built up causing soreness in the muscles.
This combination of heat, gentle massage and low impact exercises in the hot tub allows the arthritis sufferer to move more freely and with less pain. It improves the remainder of the day or brings ease for the remainder of the night.

Can i put hot tub water on my lawn?
I will be draining my hot tub soon to clean it out and fill it up with fresh water. We haven’t received much rain lately so I’d like to empty the hot tub onto my lawn but I don’t know if the hot tub chemicals will harm the grass. Any thoughts?

Cedar Hot Tubs the Green Choice
Hot tubs are becoming more and more popular, but for centuries, all types of people have enjoyed the luxuries and therapeutic treatment of soaking in a pool of hot water. Evidence of enjoying such an activity can be traced as far back as the Romans.
For thousands of years, hard wood has been used to create barrels and vats to hold large amounts of liquids. The production of cedar hot tubs comes back to this ancient production. Cedar is a popular material because it is such a resilient material, is slow to decay and expands when it is soaked in water. The earliest forms of hot tubs were cedar hot tubs, and cedar hot tubs are still popular today.
The 1970s saw the introduction of the plastic hot tubs that most of you may imagine when picturing a hot tub in mind. These became more popular, but over the years, people have begun to realize that these plastic hot tubs could never look as good and appealing as cedar hot tubs do, and so the popularity of cedar hot tubs is growing, and more people are choosing this more traditional style for their hot tubs.
Cedar is superior to most other woods because it has a very high tolerance and does not decay easily. This is very important! Some woods rot very quickly in damp conditions, but cedar does not, which is vital in creating a hot tub. It is very tough, which makes it ideal for keeping water tight, and makes it very insulating – meaning the water stays warm in this wood longer than it would in any other. Along with this, cedar has a very pleasant natural scent, which makes soaking in cedar hot tubs very enjoyable.
Just because cedar hot tubs are made out of wood does not mean that they can’t have all of the technology of their plastic based counterparts. Cedar hot tubs can include digital technologies, micro filter systems, powerful pumps and hydro therapy spa jets. Cedar hot tubs come in different styles and sizes, from a more traditional circular shaped tube, to a Japanese ‘Ofuru’ oval shape soaking tub. Hot tubs can come in a more intimate size, made for two people, to a much bigger monster sized tub, that can hold up to ten or twelve people.
Cedar hot tubs are much more desirable than a plastic hot tub, for many reasons. Firstly, there is the aromatherapy and the ambiance that is offered by soaking in a hot tub made from a natural wood product. Cedar wood releases a very pleasant smell that only a natural wood can emit – plastic has no such aroma! Cedar hot tubs offer more than a plastic made hot tub can, yet the price is around the same. Whether plastic or cedar wood, you will be paying around the same price for your hot tub, so why not go for the ambiance of cedar hot tubs? The experience from soaking in a natural wooden tub is very rewarding and pleasurable.

What You Should Know Before You Buy A Hot Tub Spa
Hot tub spas come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, from small ones for just a couple of people at a time, to very large ones that accommodate several people at a time. But no matter which model you choose, any hot tub or spa is designed to help you relax in comfort.
There are actually several common names used for hot tubs and spas today.. In fact, the term hot tub and spa actually mean essentially the same thing to most people. But other commonly used names are whirlpool and jacuzzi. However, Jacuzzi is actually the name of a company that builds spas and whirlpool baths. But for general use, any of those terms mean essentially the same thing, either an in ground or above ground, jetted, heated, water filled tub.
Perhaps the first question to ask if you are considering buying a spa is whether to get one that is in ground or above ground. Of course, the price difference will be considerable, since the in ground units require an awful lot more expensive construction methods. However, their big advantage is that they can add quite a bit of value to your home when it comes time to sell.
The advantage of having a portable spa is that you can take it with you when you move. Essentially self-contained spas require nothing more than an electrical outlet to be able to function on their own. Many people build specialized decks and surroundings for their portable spa, and others just simply carry them inside and outside whenever needed. As you can see, that makes a portable spa very flexible and easy to use.
When you choose a spa, there are a lot of features that are available. You can get contoured seats, built in radios and CD players, and plenty of other luxury choices too. But perhaps the most important feature to pay attention to is the water heater itself. In a portable spa, the heater most often runs on electricity and can range from 1.5 KW up to 11.5 KW, the difference being that the more power the heater has, the faster it can heat up the spa.
In a permanent or in ground spa the heater can be either electric or gas, but most often you’ll probably find that it runs on LP gas. Electrical heaters can be cheaper to buy initially, but over the long haul LP gas heaters are much less expensive to run from day-to-day.
Actual average monthly operating costs are hard to nail down though, since much will depend on where you live, how much you use your spa, and at what temperature you had the water set.
Usually its best to buy a hot tub or spa from a company that specializes specifically in selling them, and not as a sideline. And be wary of very cheap deals, as you often get what you pay for in this kind of consumer product.
Hopefully the information above has help you understand more about hot tubs and spas and what options are available for them. If you take your time, remain patient, and use good sense as you shop, you should be able to find a good deal on the spa that will fit you best.

Above Ground Pools – Better Than Ever
Above Ground Pools
Better Than Ever
(Excerpt of article written by William Jordan in the July 2004 issue of Pool & Spa Living Magazine)
Above Ground Pools are popular option for homeowners who want to get in the swim, but who hesitate to make the commitment that inground pools demand. We asked several industry expers to talk about aboveground pools and to give us reasons for their enduring appeal..
Why should I buy an aboveground pool?
Jim Newman: Affordability. Also, people who are in transition or who are not yet in their long-term homes should seriously consider an aboveground pool.
Jerry Daisey: Because an aboveground pool is a temporary structure, you will have the opportunity to decide whether or not pool ownership is for you. In addition, most of these pools can be packed up and moved to a new home, where they can be reinstalled with a new liner.
Daniel Crepeau: safety motivates some owners. The wall forms a barrier that can keep young children out. Another reason is the landscaping. You can erect an aboveground pool on a sloped or rocky area – conditions that would present a greater degree of difficulty for the construction of an inground pool.
Tony Mertens: Owners will swim sooner because an aboveground pool can be set up in a shorter period of time.
Are many sizes and shapes available?
Jerry Daisey: Yes, the selection gets better every year. As demand increases, the marker expands and manufacturers make more models available. Size can range from a round model that is as small as 8 ft. in diameter to an oval that is 20 ft. x 40 ft. or larger.
What accessory items are available?
Jerry Daisey: Just about everything that is available to an inground pool can be added to an aboveground pool. Automatic pool cleaners, salt-water treatment units, ionizers, mineralizers, stairs, ladders, heaters, lights, and winter solar and safety covers, are just some of the features that can be used to enhance an aboveground pool’s d?r. The only thing you cannot add is a diving board.
Tony Mertens: Different lighting packages are offered, including through-the-wall lights, a floating pool light and tracks for fiber-optic lighting.
What should I think about before buying an aboveground pool?
Tony Mertens: Consider the reputation of the company supplying the pool, Ask if the manufacturer has a customer service department. You want to make sure that the company will stand beihind its products should an issue decelop that is covered by the warranty.
Daniel Crepeau: Also investigate the different components that make up the pool, such as the walls, joints and filters. The better the quality of the components, the better the quality of the pool. Shop around and compare Ask yourself, “ Are you comfortable with the product and with the dealer?” Ask your friends with pools what they like about the product and what they would change when making a future purchase.
