Just got a new tub, it seems the dealer wants to sell a lot of chemicals (chlorine, bromine, alkalinity, ph+-) but the tub has an “ozonator” for disinfection so we are unsure which of the treatments we really need — help!

We want minimal chemical treatments, which is why we bought the model with the “ozonator” box – supposedly a new disinfectant technology — is anyone familiar with this?

Its usually just me in the hot tub. Are they really necesarry. Ive refilled my hot tub using water alone 6 weeks ago, and so far no problems. I usually decide to change the water when it gets cloudy or smells funny. What do you think. Am I good, or just going to have problems down the road that I have yet to find out about.

Don’t use other kinds of soap aside from one that is made specifically for cleaning the hot tub or spa. If you do, it might only sud and foam.

5. Pumice Stones

The scales from the hot tub tiles can be removed using these tools. The stains or other deposits from the surfaces also can be removed using these pumice stones. The surface isn’t excessively scratched if you using these. These stones are specifically made for abrasive actions and they made from volcanic ash.  These stones are attached to the brushes and telepoles in order to reach the surface easier and they are often sold in blocks. Pumice stones disintegrate so we suggest that you could do the scrubbing first, after that you do the vacuuming. Plastic foams or Styrofoam can be used as another alternative instead pumice stones because these do not scratch the fiberglass.

i have a 6 person hot springs hot tub 2003 model and would like to know what chemicals i need to keep it goin? I got a starter kit from the place i bought it off of and really dnt know how to put in and what all 5 of those spots are on the test strip…..they were going to charge us extra for them to tell us how to do it so i said f off and figured someone on here could help me.
